Isn't that what vegetables do? *(act like vegetables?) I was wondering where you went... how was it other than reddening and relaxing? All I have in the garden this year is a whole bunch of onions, some herbs (rosemary, a few kinds of sages, a few types of oregano, a cucumber, lots of plums on the tree, a few sunflowers... and one pumpkin. Not even any squash... guess I'll plant some this weekend. Can't go the summer with no squash.
Terry, It was really nice, but coming home was nice too.
Our garden gets bigger each year. This year it's got tomatoes, cukes, beans, corn, lettuce, broccoli, broccolo, kale, squash (summer, winter, and who-knows-what that came up in the garden on its own), melons, peppers, chili peppers, dill, oregano, strawberries, radishes, beets, potatoes, carrots (I hope- just planted), turnips (ditto).... and one pumpkin. Seriously. I thought it was going to be no pumpkins, but then one came poking its way up about three weeks after everything else, so I'm giving it a chance.
Man alive girl - you must have a lot of space to have such a bountiful garden!!! I'm sad we don't have a big garden this year... since we spent to much time away on vacation I'm lucky I even have anything in my yard at all that didn't dry up (my daughter didn't water anything) sigh. I'm hungry now.
Joe! I just peeked into your blog, and on a whim clicked open SSC(?)'s blog, and there you were, looking very happy indeed. What good tidings. I will most certainly try to neglect my vegetables long enough to write something in your honor.
Steve, Maybe that's what's wrong with me. All this time thinking I have nothing to say, when it's just that I've been basing my present reality on a false assumption. Dear dear. Do you have any wite-out?

You can always tell a good gardener by how well the vegetables behave in their absence.
Welcome back!
Does this mean that regular posts will commence?

Gonout Backson sounds like a particularly lazy viking.
My dear Toast,
There is no such THING as a lazy viking. Lazy viking, indeed.

mmmm, baltic.
when my wife and i travelled for a year i think she almost missed her plants more than her people.
benji,
Well, people can tell you what happened while you were gone, and they change less (most of them) in your absence.
